hey,
Wel my truck is up on blocks right now, im doing a shyt load of body work to it, but just want to get some opinions on a paint scheme i was thinking about.... i have a sponser willing to do pinstripping/woodgraining/aribrushing fo rme i just have to do the paint....

so ui was thinkg about doing above the body line a bright white, and below the body line a very tropical blue,

now wht would look better? a 1.5 or 2 inch strip if wood graing done along the body line seperating the paint

or a tribal design down the same body line with bright lime green pinstripping...

any opions wanted....L8888888r

That color combo just wouldnt stick out to me as being something special...i would probably just walk past it at a show.

And fake wood is a no-no....look how nice those 80's station wagons are!

i hear ya, but i think if done properly iot can look really nice,.... hoever i was leaning towards the tribal, but the wood grain has stuck with me for a while..... any others? feel free to make some sugestions

But just because you CAN do something.. dosen't mean you should (in most cases). I understand that we all are in a never ending quest to be "different" but the envelope can only be pushed so far w/out it coming out tacky. Are you stuck on bright and wild colors? Cause i would recomend a two tone semi flat satin red w/ black w/ a silver (or white) pinstripe or design break. Or one solid color if its bright and wild. If you get into too many crazy colors.. it will look like Mickey Mouse puked all over your truck.. IMO.

i do hearwhat you guys are saying, but i want my truck to be bright, i want it to be noticed, and right now myt truck is baby blue, but i think the white on top would just make it look clean.... and the wood graining im talking about is only like 1 ich or 2 wide down the side right below the body line... i didnt think it would look to bad, being as it seems to be popping up everywhere......at show coverages and stuff, but meh imgunan hink about it, i dont have to paint it for a while.....

but keep that in mind.. if you paint your truck a couple months from now.. the wood grain will probably be old news... i would look for more intovative ideas.. like making the paint look like busted glass.. or the new thing is hollograms w/ kandy paints.. which is AMAZING to see. Also something that has been around for a little while but always stayed lowkey but is still a big headturner is suranwrap.. put it on the wet paint and let it dry for about an hour and pull the wrap off.. and it leaves lines and texture in some areas.. its pretty cool looking.

YEAH, I REMEMBER THE WOOD GRAIN ON CHRYSLER ARIES K STATIONWAGONS, AND FORD LTD STATIONWAGONS, THEY
JUST DIDN'T LOOK RIGHT. BEST THING TO DO IS TAKE A PIC OF
YOUR TRUCK AND DO SOME PHOTOCHOPPING TO FIND OUT WHAT
LOOKS GOOD TOGETHER WITH OUT BEING TACKY OR JUST PLAIN
UGLY, THEN LAY THE PAINT ON IT, THIS WAY IS A LOT LESS EXPENSIVE THAN SPRAYING IT, AND FINDING OUT THAT YOU DON'T LIKE WHAT YOU'VE DONE! FROM WHAT I SEE AT MOST CAR SHOWS PEOPLE LIKE CHIP FOOSE, BOYD CODDINGTON GO FOR SOMETHING THAT IS CLEAN, CATCHY, AND YET NOT TO AGRESSIVE ON THE EYE. I THINK THAT IS WHY EVERYONE LOVES THEIR WORK.... JUST MY 2 CENTS....

no woodgrain, and if you want to be noticed just do a clean line and a dark colour with a bright colour to contrast, like the bright orange/black combo (but dont use that cause lots of people have)but it should be bright+dark

I like old school, and some of it is a good comeback, tribal was wore out 3 years ago to me... not to offend anyone. The woodgrain would not do the mazda's era justice. And it's just plain tacky. from a carpenter at heart.
