welp looks like im lookin into the long block . this much i know :

comes with gasket set , and a 3 year unlimted warranty .



now what do i transfer over from mine ... i have a general idea but i'd like a list so i can start getting to it now maybe


i know i need:
timing cover
alternator
starter
valve cover
oilpan
intake cover


What else?

this is probably a dumb question but by getting a long block does that mean its going to be 6cyl? inline six? or is it just a bigger 4cyl

no its what they call the motor .. it don't have any accessories on it that a full motor comes with .. this motor is a total replacement for the b2200 4cyl .

A l ong block basically means that it comes with a fully assembled block and head. And a short block means that it is only the block of the motor, internals but no head. You will also need a distributor, motor mounts (if you don't have them), all brackets, carb or throttle body, pulleys, oil cooler that is mounted to block(oil filter screws onto it), all hoses, dipstick and tube. thats about all I can think of. I just did a motor replacement on my 2600i, so let me know if I can be any help. Peace!

i apreiate it alot . now i have the task of finding someone to help me and to have a place to do the motor swap .where i live we're not allowed to do mechanic work in our driveways . They say it makes the place look ghetto or something gay rules i tell ya Gay Rules.

what was the cheapest price you have found for a long block.. because i'm looking to do the same. I want to put my v8 motor swap off until i get everything perfect.. all the parts i want and rebuild the motor.

after waiting 2 days i got my price . the price i got for the 3 yr unlimited mile warranty motor was $2,121.12 and if say your crank shaft broke and fu*ked your motor they'll pay 65$ an hour up to $650 to have another motor put in ... and i got another price thats a little lower which was $1,948.00 and they'll pay $40 a hour up to $400 to reinstall a motor . i thought that my original qoute a while back was like 800 -900 but he said the price just went up for this year . but these prices will be intact til next year . hmmmm i guess i am gona have to borrow some loot . if i wanta do the reman route now .

You know mullet, you could always get one of those used motors from japan. They usually have around 30,000-60,000 miles on them and come with damn near everything on it for around $600-900. Might be a good option if your going to only use it for a couple of years before you do the swap.

dont do it if its a jasper motor they suck balls. yea in japan there emissions laws say they gota changed motors out at certain intervals thats y jap motors are a dime a dozen over there...
