Ok my gear box is all ways whinging. Its like im reving it at 6000 rmp instead of 3000.

I have put some more oil in but that didnt help.

Is this typical of b2000's or is it time or a new gear box?

Cheers

Sounds like it might be time for new bearings in that gear box.

are you sure that its your gear box not your throw out bearing? mine did the same thing and i thought it was the rear and it turned out ot be the throw out

^^ could you elaborate furhter? I have no clue when it comes to engines

what did you mean by gearbox bro...did you mean the transmission or the differential...trans is that big thing attached to the motor...and the diff is your axle

if the whine pitch rises as you accelerate, it is mostlikely your differential

does it make noise all the time, or just when you are off the cluctch? if it goes away when the clutch is engaged its most likely the throw out bearing, if its coming from the rear of the truck then your rear is probably ready to dump on ya

well i just guess it had something to do with the gear box, cuase it only happens when its in gear.

Whats they best way to test to see if its the throw out bearing or the diff?

the throw out bearing will typically only make noise when the clutch is out, if you put the clutch in and the noise goes away, its the throw out, if it is a constant noise, its not the bearing, and the noises would come from two totally different areas, bearing, front of tranny, gears, rear of truck

hmm - i think it might be the throw out bearing. Easy to replace or is it a mechanics job?

have you ever taken down a tranny before? or taken off a clutch assembly? if you have then it should be no problem....other than that, i'd let a mechanic deal with it so it's not on you
