I'm so glad to see that I'm not the only one out there with a B2200 that makes this kind of noise! In my case, the noise first started whenever I would reverse the truck. But now it seems to come almost all the time that I put it in gear and start driving. The noise goes away as I speed up faster, but at slower speeds it comes back. My only temporary solution to this problem was to turn up the music on the stereo.
But seriously, I know that my clutch is on it's way out cuz of the way the truck bobs back and forth when I shift between gears. But I'm still unsure of whether the chirpping/squeeling noise is coming from my transmission or my rear differential? I suppose I'll try to drain the oil in the diff and refill it with fresh stuff and see if that helps any. Otherwise, a new clutch might be in my near future and perhaps a new throw-out bearing to solve this annoying noise problem. Unless this problem is coming from my wheel bearings somewhere?
Does anyone have any suggestions for me?

Thanks........

has anyone actually found what was causing this noise ? i pulled my trans today and pulled out the front input shaft bearing since i thought that was the noise. to my dismay, its not the input shaft bearing or the throw out bearing. one area of interest is the gear grease in the trans. my repair manual says it should be good ol gear lube and the stuff in mine is not. actually smells alot like plain ol oil.
anyone ran any different lubes in these trans?

well that might be your problem.. if your running regular oil instead of gear oil.. u can do some crazy damage to the gears inside your tranny.

well, i reassembled my trans today but havent refilled it and drove it yet. i called my transmission guy and he says the whiny noise is common in those trans, and will only get worse. he says if its not the front input shaft bearing its one of the cluster bearings and there is no need to replace one as the other have just as many miles on them and are likely to go also. price to replace the bearings, about 700$.
anyone want to buy a mazda? it needs a new home more than i need the truck. for gods sake i have to many projects as it is anyways.
