First things first. What you want to do is get that motor running. Then you can start getting rid of the unnecessary wiring from the computerized carburator later.
1. Install a good battery
2. Turn iginition switch to ON.
3. With a meter, check to make sure you have 12V to the ignition coil positive termnal. If no 12V, you have to fix that first.
4. If you have 12V to coil, unplug ignition wire from distributor to coil then put a spark plug on the distributor end of the wire and ground the spark plug to chassis ground.
5. Crank the engine and check for spark. If no spark, distributor pick up coil is bad. If there is spark, then go to next.
6. Check for fuel at the fuel pump output hose that connects to the carb while cranking the motor. Make sure the fuel does not come in contact with spark plug wires or you will see sparks and fuel mix. you know what happens next.
7. If you have fuel and spark, and still does not run, check timing,
8. If timing is correct, and still wont run, check compression on all four cylinders.
9. If compression is ok, and still does not run, check if carb is supplying fuel. Remove and check spark plugs for fuel smell. If there is fuel it will be wet at the tip.
If it starts running, then you can start yanking the excess wiring in the engine bay.
