Adding Cruise Control

I want to add cruise control to my truck but I dont want to use an aftermarket kit. I went to the junkyard and got the controls off the steering column but the trucks engine compartment was pretty gutted. Does anyone have stock cruise and know what other components are under the hood I will need?

Not quite sure but my dad put one in our '87 B2200. I'll ask him and try to post up what i find out on it .

I have looked at many trucks in the wreckers and I have never seen a factory cruise controll for our trucks. I have seen what seem to be maybe dealer installed or aftermarket units that have a seperate lever that protrude out from the ignition and switch cover.

They did come with factory cruise. Mostly on the LE model. It also had a tilt wheel and delayed wipers. I'd like to change to that set up too. I hear it's a lot of work to do though.

the LX came with the cruise and tilt i dont plan to use my cruise but im keeping my tilt lol as if mine works dont know i never hooked it up

Since I got the factory controls from the junkyard I might just adapt them to work with an aftermarket cruise. Then atleast it looks factory inside.

did you get the arm switch that was on the dash mine is to the right of the steering column

crap...no. I thought it was all on the column. I didnt look for the "on" button

I know it plugs in on the driver wheel well i just took mine off i will go look on my 92 and see if the plug is there...probally not i would think only the le would have the plug??
