every night when i get off work i have to wait atleast 20 minutes for the truck to warm up and if i try to tap the pedal it lopes really bad and smells like gas,so im thinking it has to do with the choke but i want to know a solution or maybe if anyone has a carb for sale, cuz im bout to park my truck over this delima. <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_evil.gif" alt="" title="Evil or Very Mad" /><!-- s:evil: -->

lol i dont blame ya. For some reason my choke wont click in either. So i have rubber band for now that does the job to get it warmed up. Lol. Ghetto ---yes but it works for now.

i shut the truck off and flooded the card with starter fluid and let it sit over night and this morning it seemed to be running better.but we will see when it gets down to the 20's how it runs

Yup Yup choke aint workin properly on mine and it sputters and hesitates and sometimes stalls from stand still. Shudders bad on the highway - took it into a shop - guys said that they took it apart - cleaned and adjusted it - and put in new plugs. "runs great now" they said. Lyin crooks - 200 dallar plug change is what I think it was - ran worse after they looked at it. then they said that they did what they could and wouldn't look at it again. SO it is gonna be a carb swap for me cuz I know the carb works well on my reg. cab. put it on the cab plus for the winter anyways. Summer truck don't need no damn choke.

mines ok once it warms up, but it takes a good 10 mins to warm up in the winter now. im going to get a weber as soon as i decided to drop the money.

does it realy get that cold in Texas?

yes,the coldest its been so far is 13 degrees and that was a record low,my hydro's didnt like it very much, and same thing with my truck.i have to sit in the parking lot at working waiting about 15-20 minutes for the truck to warm up and when its ready then im allowed to leave.BUT I HAVE GREAT NEWS!!!!obviously flooding the carb and letting it sit over night fixed the problem:)

most of you guys probably need to take your carb and spray it down real good with some wd-40 the choke plate tends to get stuck on these trucks over time and will cause those problems I also have a good carb if anyone is interested for $100

I hate my carb!!! I am getting a weber 38. Just waiting for the damn thing to come in!! Hell I have sprayed and sprayed and sprayed carb cleaner into and also sprayed it down with wd40. Works good for a couple days then goes back downt he drain!

well like i said earlier i flooded the carb with starter fluid till it came out the top(i was fed up i didnt care if it hurt anything) and then in the morning i started it and now i dont even have to wait 5 minutes.so that worked for me.
