I HAVE MY MOTOR IN THE MACHINE SHOP RIGHT NOW BEING BUILT.
I HAVE A DYNO 2000 COMPUTER PROGRAM WHICH SHOWED TO TO
HAVE @ 190 HP TO THE FLY WHEEL WHEN IT GETS DONE, THIS IS SUPPOSED TO BE WITH IN 3% OF THE TRU HP. WHICH WITH 190 HP AT THE FLYWHEEL IF YOU TAKE OFF 15% FOR LOSS THRU THE DRIVE LINE YOUR LOOKING AT 161.5 HP TO THE GROUND. BUT TO ANSWER YOUR QUESTION, I GOT MY CAM FROM FAST FREDDYS, ALL THEY DO IS TAKE A CAM AND SEND IT TO DELTA CAMS IN TACOME WASHINGTON, AND HAVE THEM REGRIND IT TO 260 OR 270 DEG. DURATION W/ .420 VALVE LIFT.
I GAVE $338 FOR THE CAM AND HYD. LIFTERS, CHECK ON E-BAY I HAVE SEEN SIMILAR CAMS FOR LESS THAN $200, I ALSO HAVE HEARD OF A PLACE CALLED COLT CAMS IN BRITISH COLUMBIA THAT DOES THEM ALSO. MY SUGGESTION WOULD BE TAKE YOUR CAM TO A COMPETENT PERFORMANCE MACHINE SHOP, AND IF THEY KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING, THEY SHOULD BE ABLE TO REGRIND YOUR CAM TO WHAT EVER SPECS YOU WANT. THEN I WOULD HAVE IT CRYOGENICLY TREATED (RUNS @ $75) THIS WILL STRENGHTEN IT. THE OTHER OPTIONS ARE LIMITED, AND WILL TAKE A FAIR AMOUNT OF TIME AND MONEY, BUILD A TURBO SETUP (BUNCH OF CUSTOM FABING AND ONE OFF PARTS) OR STAY NATURALLY ASPIRATED, AND BORE OUT THE MOTOR AND INCREASE THE COMP. RATIO (EITHER BY CUSTOM PISTONS OR SHAVING THE HEAD) INCREASING YOUR VALVE SIZE (INTAKE & EXHAUST) AND SOME PORTING AND POLISHING ON THE HEAD. IT SOUNDS LIKE YOU ALREADY HAVE A GOOD START WITH THE HEADER AND WEBER, IF YOU HAVE THE 32/36 YOU WILL HAVE TO REJET IT BEFORE YOU DO TOO MUCH TO THE MOTOR, AND IT WILL ONLY SUPPORT UP TO 130-150 HP AT THE FLYWHEEL, OR GO UP TO A 38 WEBER WHICH WILL SUPPORT MORE HP.
JUST SOME SUGGESTIONS AND POINTERS..
