im so glad you can make fun of a man that was most likly 100 times more man thay you and one that passed some 7 years ago My Grandpa was a great man and a even better auto mechanic. probly even thay you and i will ever wish to be.

oh yea why im at it

STOCK MOTOR W/190HP @ FLYWHEEL (SOON TO BE)

if your getting 190 HP at the flywheel then the motor is not STOCK use what little brain you have and think about it

You dont gotta be a dick to him man, you no what he means a stock 2.2 motor built to 190hp. Just get some new bolts and be done with it adding 1 ft.lb instead of just buying new ones is just stupid.
pont   +1y
No its not why waste money on new bolts when thay will be fine for at least 3 uses after 3 i will buy more and the reason im being a "dick" to him is cuase to gain 100 HP out of these motors thay are not stock plus he had new pistons rods and other things made whats stupid is spending more than 2000 grand on trying to get a 100 extra HP out of a 4 banger (excluding super chargers)

210 HP on a four banger is not impossible.
Just get a 16-valve water-cooled Porsche!

Pont, have u ever reused mazda head studs? I have tryed and they snapped why tell someone reuse them its just better to get new so they don't snap and he doesn't have to tear the head off agian. and for NYTRDR24's motor its called naturally aspired, No turbos, no superchargers. Just a built reg motor, When you have a 2.2 mazda motor with 85hp stock rapin dohc 4cyl, turbo 4cyl, and v6's then u can talk 190hp out of a f2 motor is pretty much unheard of without a turbo...

yea i have reused them lots of times (differnt motors) i reused the ones on my 92 which i need to go finsh putting back togather and i reused them on my 86 which i drove for over a year and had no problems with the headbolts. if i was not gone drop a V8 in it, it will probly still be going

On the Mazda B2200 first engine rebuild, it will probably start smoking again before the cylinder head bolts stretch or break.

If you really want to change them, replace the stock head bolts with head studs for more accurate torque.

ok, i was not making fun of your grandfather, i was making light of your comment to reuse them and just add a couple of lbs of torque & since you were telling me I was an ass for suggesting to dimotorsports to use new bolts. he asked for our opinion, and i gave him one, but i guess its sorta like the ole saying goes opinions are like buttholes, everyone has one. if you go to any performance shop, or any engine shop they will reccomend new bolt / studs for you to use instead of reusing the old ones, there is a reason behind this, old bolts won't hold near as good because they have been through many stress cycles, which stretches the bolt / stud, which could lead to them breaking or loss of compression. as bad as the heads are on these trucks about cracking and warping, the last thing i would do would be put an old bolt in and take a chance on it warping or cracking because of a worn out bolt that didn't do what it was engineered to, which if you want to take a chance and re use them, more power to you, but if it were my engine, that i was spending my money an time on, i would want it done right the first time! now that being said, it isn't my motor, and i was just suggesting to him to use new ones, and wanted to make clear up front that i wasn't trying to be an ass......as baha says on the front page, if you are going to post on tech article only provide acurate information, which is what i did.

where you say that burnt oil in a new motor isn't the same as nuts and bolts, you must be saddly mistaken, cause it takes the nuts and bolts to hold it together properly, and the oil to keep friction from tearing it down so you don't ruin it, so yes it was a good analogy.

now on to the stock motor, it is a stock motor...not a turbo, not a v8, it came in the truck, so yes it is a stock motor, and yes i will have it modded to make almost 200hp...............nuff said

my apologies to all else who read this rant
