How obvious is a crack in a head?

I cracked one on a 626 and a head shop here locally fixed it and I put another100k miles o the car and it did fine. Was not a big crack so I guess it depends. They wont fix one unless they can guarantee it .BJ

You can't magnaflux an aluminum head so if they tell you they magnafluxed it they are lying. There is a 2 part dye process they use to show up cracks but its more complicated and some shops won't do it so make sure you take it to a big shop

Got my head back from the shop, no problems with it. He did change valves and mill it. Saved me about $300. Putting it back together now.

let us know how it goes....since it got shaved, it should have a little more power than it did....
