im not sure what engine it was.. its a 5.0 from an 86 lx hatch. He pulled it to put a 347 stroker in it. So it was just sittin. But he got rid of it. So im SOL on that deal.

lots of Mazdas had RTV sealant instead of a gasket bouth mine did as for the metel in the oil. If you cut off oil to the motor it does not take long for the steal cam to eat away the cam jernals which are not steal. If it was me i would check the head were the cam is. And check the oil pump see if its pumping. It may not be repriming itself from not having oil in it.

why ruin a good block and throw a rod, fix the problem now. if it's a b2200- it may just be the hydro lash adjusters went dry on oil from lack of lubrication.

that to check the oil pump make sure its pumping like it should

sounds like it's time for a kia swap, you probably can find a low mileage sportage engine that will fit right in you truck for little of nothing!!

i went on car-part.com & found these three they are in va, i know your in ct so you might have to get them shipped or go pick one up, but they are practicaly brand new engines!

THats not a bad idea... I heard its the same block, Is the head the same as well? Will my intake and exhaust manifolds bolt right up? or will i have to convert to efi?
nytrdr24   +1y
the heads are different, they are twin overhead cam designs & are a WAY better design that the stockers on our mazdas. not sure if the intake & exhaust manifolds will fit or not......i think madlowmazda has done this swap & could tell you a little more, but they were deffinately good deals!!
