Like night rider says, you can do swaps with the small rx7 one straight in. what he doesnt say is that if you just use the clutch pack cartridge you can keep the housing, ratio, flange, etc and just add lsd. there are some tricks with axle length too.

what i was getting at was going to the bigger stronger one thats harder to break as you will have a lot of power there.

the b2600 unit is 8" and you would need the whole thing, wheel to wheel. at that point you could swap in the head or just cartridge from the turbo rx7. you wont break that in a hurry. there are sometimes differences from open to lsd in axle style/length too.

i cant tell you if the flange is the same or not. i can tell you that in NZ b2000 driveshaft and b2600 driveshaft have the same flange, but different sized splines etc. however we get 8" diffs in all our utes... so yours may be different.

i'd ask a user here to measure their b2600 diff flange and how far it sticks out from the centre line of the axle. or just get one and see.

i wasnt joking about those big ends. keep an eye on them.

fred.

very true about he b26k rear, it will hold up better with a higher hp engine like his sr20. & I think kaaz offers a performance lsd unit for that rear end too....

no biggie, but i did say that he could swap in the lsd from the rx to the trucks housing, but i should have elaborated that he could use either the trucks axle shafts & drum brakes or the rx's shafts & with some cutting & welding of the flanges be able to use the rx's disc. the trucks axle shafts are larger in diameter than the rx's shafts, and are probably a better option as far as strength, but the end surface that the lugs potrude from is too large to use with the rx's disc....what kinda tricks are you talking about with the axle length??

the 8" lsd core that comes in utes separates the axles and they run on it to space them. the open core that i got just had a hole there, so the axles didnt sit still, they moved a LOT and oil pissed out of the seels etc all over the brakes.

thats all. not sure about the smaller ones, but there is a writeup somewhere on mazdatruckin about it by a member there. i forget who/where.
