Ok so I did a search, found nothing. How does someone go about doing it? Specifically the wiring, I can figure out everything else fairly easily.

Where am I getting power from and do I need to hook it up to the thermostat at all?

The only thing I can think of is to wire it up to a switch in the cab and turn it on when needed but I'm not really sure about that....

Also which fan is recommended? Does it really matter? I guess it just has to fit on the rad and be the right voltage right?

Thanks,

- Jon

I guess I should also say that it's a 1992 B2200 FI Manual tranny.

i have the flex-a-lite dual 10" fan setup, it comes with the wiring instructions, though it isn't installed yet cause i'm still waiting on
my engine to get out of the machine shop. the main power hooks
up to the battery, it is switched through a relay which is switched from
the ignition, the thermostat is set to where ever you want the fan to
turn on/off at. so when the key is in the ignition & in the on position, once the thermostat reaches the set temp, it will automaticly kick the fans on.

I was curious about this in my b2000. Since most thermostats just open coolant flow, mechanically, how does this send an electronic signal to get the fans to work? I think that's what he was asking as well?

THE POWER WIRING FOR THE FAN HAS A BUILT IN THERMOSTAT, NOT THE ONE IN THE ENGINE COOLANT SYSTEM.... ONCE YOU WIRE THE FAN IN TO MFG SPECS, THERE A LITTLE ADJUSTMENT KNOB FOR YOU TO SET WHAT TEMP YOU WANT THE FANS TO KICK ON & OFF AT, THE THERMOSTAT IN THE ENGINE HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE THERMOSTAT ON THE FANS...CHECK ON SUMMITRACING.COM FOR DUAL 10 OR 12" FLEX-A-LITE FANS, YOU CAN DOWNLOAD THE INSTRUCTIONS FROM THERE, IT SHOULD GIVE YOU A LITTLE BETTER UNDERSTANDING OF IT THAN WHAT I CAN EXPLAIN...

Im running dual 12" fans on mine with the v8 and i have them wired up just to a key on hot for the time being...

do the 12's keep it cool? i had debated on getting them instead of the 10's but didn't because of sizing constraints.....

yea doesn't go over 200 degrees...
