Yeah thats what I thought..the ignitor should be in the distibutor. thats what the wires going to to dist. are for.

OK so the truck should run even without that thing.

I will try messing with the ignition switch and checking some gorunds in the engine bay I guess.

The clutch switch would prevent the starter from engaging at all i would think. The starter still cranks fine, just no spark.

there 2 sets of wires coming from the Dis the other set is at the bottom of the pic there wraped up thay go into the Dis under the cap. Those go to the ignitor but the thing in my pic next to the Dis is not that is for the raideo

I'm not too sure if the B series still used them on their carbed trucks but that box could be the ballast resistor. It drops the ingition voltage to about 6 volts except on startup when its a full 12 volts. If it is wired backwards it will get extremely hot and eventually blow out. They are a common problem on older vehicles. It could also be as simple as a broken wire. Has the vehicle ever had an alarm or remote starter? Other than that these are the things that I would check in order.

1. Battery ground.
2. Replace ingition fuse in fusepanel (older fudes can look good but still have a bad contact oir be partialy broken)
3. Check for any added alarm or remote starter units (if they are present check all connections, personally I would just remove them)
4. Check for voltage on coil when key is in the on position.
5. Check voltage on startup.
6. Replace wire from ign. to coil (just run out the door then into engine compartment)
7. Replace coil (buy from parts store and take it back if its not the problem)

If you have power at the coil and its not the problem the you have to take another route. In all honesty, its probably a small stupid thing but there the most pain in the ass to find. Let us know how you make out.

check the cables connected to the battery, if they are loose you will have problems cranking it.

Well the saga continues..

Went out to the shop today, truck started first try, and ran for 15 minutes till i shut it off. I started it every 10 minutes or so after that with no problems, and jiggled wires and connectors while it was running hoping to find a loose one but no luck. So as of tonight all is good...we'll see what tomorrow brings.
