If you want a higher power alternator, just ask for an alternator for a 78 Camaro with air conditioning it has an output of 63 amps. Or, if you want a more expensive 94 amp alternator, which you might if you're planning on putting in a good sound system, ask for an alternator for an 84 Camaro with the 305 g engine, air conditioned, 94 amps. It requires a new lower bracket.

this was all told to me by the guy i got my 83 from. but i looked at my 89 and they should work on the 86-93 models as well. just need to fab a new lower bracket.

What about the Kia alt I seen a few pics of them and they mount the same way as the stock 2.2 and 2.0 (different pulley but that can be changed) not sure on the output but for those that are looking can check it out.

i just took my altenator in to the rebuilder and had him bump it up to 100amps and 1500 rpms, and then i put a smaller pully on it to help it spin a little quicker, but my truck is still feeding it a beating, so im going to put a GM one wire altenator, beef it up to 125-150amps and just move the brackets around to make the bastard fit

Ford probe, mazda mx6, mazda 626, 89-92/93 all have an alternator externally identical to the b2000/b2200 trucks 86-93. However, those cars have a higher output alternator- like 70-75 amps, because they are fuel injected. you will have to swap the pulleys I believe to match the truck v- pulleys.

The Kia head DOES NOT bolt onto a mazda block- oil return passages are all different. The kia block is externally identical to the mazda block though(it used to be a mazda fe3, kia bought the tooling rights from mazda to produce the engine in their sportage) It is a f series mazda motor- so the tranny and motor mounts bolt right up, as do all of the engine accessory brackets and such
