I just picked up a brand new header for my b2200 off of craigslist for $40... I think I got lucky on this deal. I thought it would be used and rusty, but nope its still wrapped in the original plastic.

If I put this on my truck now and eliminate the tubes that go up to the air cleaner, is that going to mess up my emission stuff with the factory carb? Again, we have emissions out here and I have to pass before I can get tags for my truck.

Of that I do not know...sorry, but if you want a bit more horsepower, and the header to last longer, get is ceramic coated.

Yeah I was going to look into that or possibly powder coating it.

Powder on headers will dull over time, at least in my experience, ceramic coating will not, at least as much....and powder will not help with horsepower, though it is still a mazda, and horsepower is well limited anyways.

Can anyone tell me if installing the header now and getting rid of those 3 lines that goes to the air clean will have any bad effects on the emission?

i dont think it will affect it emissions wise but it might make you fail visually

we dont have visual inspections here. they just put it on rollers and drive it with a hose hooked to the tail pipe.

then there shouldnt be any problems. it wont affect emissions I don't think

It more than likely will affect emissions, those pipes are bascily a form of EGR which will affect you NoX and other gases

Thats what Im concerned about. I guess I will just get it passed first them put the header on. I wont have to do emissions again for 2 more years after that. Im sure I will have a weber on it then and I can adjust that to help it pass.
