for about 5 minutes, why do you need 4 amps? what are you trying to power? also how much is it going to cost you for the 4 amps? there are many brands out there taht in my opinion are better than audiobahn that you could run 1 or 2 and get as much power if not more, let me know what you are looking to do as far as how many subs etc, and i can try and help you out with amp selection

did you read the dudes whole post? he opened the amp and messed with the internals? its beyond me why anyone would dismantle an amp to disconnect the bass gain on the amp, he says that its ok becuase he has the external bass know, the external bass know is only going to allow the gain to go as high as he set it before he took it out ( if that made sense ) i personally wouldnt buy an amp that has been messed with, the price seems good but you can do better, there is a guy on that was selling a cadence zrs-8 for $200 shipped 1500 watts @ 1 ohm heres a link

also just browse on theres always good amps for sale for good prices, i would just be real careful with that amp you are looking at

Well, not to rain on your parade, but how does this thread qualify under the Engine forum?

And you should also try ebay. There are retailers that sell NEW amps on there with WARRANTIES for cheap...

watch yourself on ebay, there are a lot of gineric brand amps out there that claim an insane amount of wattage but would never see that much power on there best day, also 9 out of 10 companies will not honor any warranty claims if hte item is bought online, new or not, so be careful

Uh huh, I only buy MTX. There is better than MTX and MTX and others are name brand. I would prefer kicker, eclipse, orion, JL, mtx, and maybe alpine.

I also do my homework before I buy something, too. Some of the dealers use a seperate company for the warranty. I bought my head unit and got a 3 year warranty for $15!

Audiobahn is one of those brands that claim outrageous wattage, but I've compared my 400 rms subs to an audiobahn 400 rms sub and his did'nt even come close...

just a little calculation tip i like to use when finding true max rating, your battery is at its strongest at 14.4 volts ( max power a typical battery will provide ) which we know wont last long, so you take the rating of fuse or fuses on the amp and multiply them by 14.5

example

amp has two 25 amp fuses = 50 amps
multiply by 14.4
total = 720 watts max power, regardless of what the manufacturer says

drpdmazda took the words out my mouth. i would multiply it by 12.5volts for a continous power output. and if the lights dim on the dash update the ground wire on your battery.
