need help asap

ok, go to your local auto parts store, get the rad. flush kit, follow the directions on the bottle. then drain the rad., run a water hose to it and crank it up with the drain open. when the water coming out of it is clear than you are good. pull the hose out, let it drain. close the drain, and fill it up with 2 gal. of green coolant, add water if necessary. when you top it off, keep the cap off and crank the truck up and let the coolant circulate, and add water as necessary.

you want the green coolant, the orange stuff is for newer cars and not what you want at all.

also check for bubbling, this means you have either a blown head gasket or cracked head.

could be the one of the 2 small hoses beneath the intake , i had that happen and was on the highway , luckily few peeps stopped to assist. good luck on it and you got a good deal in my opinion even if it is the head.

yeah he did, i paid 150 for mine and i had to drop about 3 g's in it before i could drive it.

Is this a 87-88 B2600 or a 89-93 B2600i?

If its an 87-88 then I would do as everyone says and flush the rad, Mazda rads get plugged pretty quick. Usually the heater hose pops off as a pressure release and not a cause.


If its an 89-93, I may not have good news. If you ran it hot for any length of time it is probably ruined. The 89-93 B2600i have a well documented flaw in the cylinder head design. Mazda knew about it, didnt recall it. The heads crack between 1-2 and cant be welded or fixed. They ALL crack, and good salvage yard heads are just heads that havent cracked yet. Mazda fixed the casting, you can get a bare head for 900 bucks at the dealer.

damn its a 91 so im oretty much f--ked well how about a motor swap?? i was htinking turbo mx6 let me know open to anything at this point thanks everyone that helped me out
