I'm getting 16mpg on my '90 b2200 189000km with a stock motor, that doesnt smoke at all and no longer burns oil, a new stock cat and the orig muffler/ tail pipe, new plugs/wires/cap/rotor/accel coil. It runs awesome with zero issues but this mileage thing (the check engine light has been on since i bought it and nothing makes it go off).

The truck is great but I want better mileage and was looking at fi wether a 2600fi or 2200fi but would rather use factory parts more power would be nice but not essential.

I could probably get an fi intake mani seeing as I hear most fi b22's were sold in Canada (I've personaly serviced 3 in the last 6 months)

Anyone know if I'd need a different dizzy? I think both the fi's and carbed dizzys use a vaccum advance.

Thanks

I see you have 189,000 KILOMETERS as your mileage.

Are you in Canada? Don't you guys use Liters rather than gallons? I know you guys use kilometers.

16kilometers per liter would be kick ass lol. that's around 37miles per gallon

Can't help you with your mileage, but I may be able to with the check engine light. There is a plug under the dash on the left hand side of the pedals. It should be white with 2 wires coming out of it. It will be plugged into either a black or white plug. Unplug it and plug it into the other plug next to it. It will be the opposite plug that it was orignially plugged into. Either a black or white plug.

The check engine light comes on about every 80k miles even if there is nothing wrong. Thats how you reset it.

Yes I am in Canada and yes we use km's and litres but alot of ppl still talk mpg u divide km's by litres then divide that by 0.421 and bingo my last fillup was 32.2L from that I got 265km. It seems most ppl are getting 20mpg I got 16 hwy which comming off my 323 which even at 230whp (that number has increased due to p&p/planing) still got 650km/tank and 323's have a 50L tank just like my B so even running 94 in it it is still a cheaper car to run.

I was considering getting another bpt and a miata trans and putting that in the truck but then I'd have to get B1800 decals

btw i heard the new saturn vue green line hybrid might get in the neighbourhood of 30km/L (72mpg)

I already reset it when I was poking around and found another connector there but i thought i just cut power to the bulb thx

The toyota prius gets 100mpg!

I'm getting about 12 mpg with mine! Its a '89 B2200 with less than 10k miles on rebuilt engine. I bet its cause of the cold weather... My cats might be plugged too, although.

I've used almost half a tank of gas and only put about 8 miles on my truck in the last month. haha. Most of that was used up with it just running in the driveway while tuning it and just moving it around.

it's been running in 10C to -20C weather at the same mileage (don't ask me what those temps are in farenheight I got no idea) I know cold weather makes your mileage worse but on my 323 with its old engine it made a 2mpg difference i was getting like 25mpg in sept/oct.

My 93 b2200 2.2 FI got 500-550kms per tank that was the reg cab tank.
