ANybody know how to plumb a fuel cell for an 89 B2200 Carb of course!

I have a buddy that is getting ready to plumb his cell and I have an idea, but just want to make sure!

here ya go cat daddy....several different diagrams for plumbing different fuel cells, but this ought to give you a general idea...

Thanks so much buddy!

Great!

oh, also it will depend on what kind of componets he is using as to how you would plumb it.....

couple of q's on that note
what kind of carb?
factory fuel pump, if so is it the mech or elect one?
are you using a pressure regulator? & is it a bypass type?

a general rule of thumb is if you run an aftermarket pump to mount it no higher than the fuel cell itself & within a foot of the fitting leaving the cell to the fuel pump...you don't want to strain the pump & have to overcome gravity or a long section of plumbing inbetween it & the cell.....also you want a filter inbetween the cell & the pump, and one between the pump & regulator or carb

as an example, this is what i'm gonna run
jaz 16 gal. pro-street cell w/ sump
8 an line
aeromotive 12304 filter
8 an line
aeromotive 11209 pump
8 an line
aeromotive 12308 filter
8 an line
aeromotive 13301 by-pass pressure reg.
then from the reg, i will have a 8 an line that is going to a tee that steps it down to to 6an lines to each carb, on the bypass side, there will be an 8 an line back to the cell (note if you use a bypass reg, you have to use the same size line to and from the cell otherwise your psi won't regulate correctly, a smaller line back to the cell & the psi will go up, a larger line & the psi will drop...)

hope this makes sense

Why can't I just use the stock Fuel Pump with the fuel cell?

15 Gal RCI Aluminum
-8AN

Couldn't I just go from the Fuel Cell to the Filter and then have one port for tip-over vent, and the other two capped off?

I don't know much, just curious!

you can use the stock pump, i'm gonna say that since it's carb'd it is a mech pump on the engine unless it's an ext cab? just plumb from the cell to a filter, then to the pump, i know on the mazda mech pump there is a return, so you will need to run a return line back to the fuel cell.....rci are nice cells, a pic of it would be helpfull, or a p/n & i can find a pic of it on jegs or summit, then i could tell you a little better, example, my cell has to outlets on the sump, one will get used, one capped off, the roll over vent is in the cell's cap, and there is a return inlet on top of the cell....

Here is a picture! Looks exaclty like mine!

the two fittings on the "sump" bottom of the pic, cap one, use the other to feed the fuel pump. there is a vent in the filler cap, so you shouldn't need a roll over vent, use one of the fittings on the top for the return line and cap the other one.

Do I need to use one of the top fittings for the return?

Why couldn't I use the other bottom one?

And if I am not mistaken, there are 3 lines that went to the stock gas tank! One of which goes to the Fuel Filter, so what do I do with the other two lines?

Hmm......

Thanks for all the help in advance!
