If its anything like mine, you should be able to look where your air corrector jets are at the top, and next to it, you can look downwards and you will be able to see if you have fuel in your float. If you don't even have any in there then something is up!
You are going to need to desribe your problem a little more. Does it run rough, high, lean, etc. If that is a new carb., then it is something with your fuel delivery or vacuum.
Make sure you have your accel cable hooked up right! If you also did not tighten down your adaptor plates right, you may have a slight vacuum leak! If you can see if you are blowing any smoke.
