1) Where do you hookup the power brake takeoff line?

2) The return line.....says to hook it up to the lines under the intake manifold. Do they want you to make it one big loop (no return line on carb right?)

3) The vacuum line that runs from the gas tank to the charcoal canister....should I leave that hooked up? I've read on here that I should...

bumpity bump.......

Guys, got it all together. In the pic above, the fuel line bolted to the block.....Which is the return line and the main fuel line? There is also a line down lower not attached to anything. I assumed that was the line-in and the ones on the block are the return lines, but....no fuel to carb. Switched them around....still nothing. HELP!!!!

I can pour a bit o' gas down the carb and she runs for a few seconds then dies. Not getting fuel to the carb.

- turn key and can hear fuel pump
- checked for spark - have that
- fuel filter and pump are new

So close but feels like so far to go........

That should be easy.

Unhook the fuel lines and turn ignition ON for a moment and see where fuel comes out.
Make sure the ignition coil negative is unhooked so no spark is generated.
Have a fire extinguisher ready just in case.

Thx for the reply. I will try that tonight. I found a one-way valve on the line down beside the tranny going to the tank so Im pretty sure on which one is the line-in.

Should I get a pressure regulator as well?

At first, I was wondering what in the world was going on! I did'nt understand why everything was backwards. Then I realized yours is not a B2200!

If you do not have a manual for your truck, I can tell you what your fuel pressure is for your truck. But I dunno what model it is...

My truck's psi is 3.7 and they say no more than 3.5. Although, I have'nt noticed any problems in doing it though...

Its an 88 B2600 4x4. No manual. I bought it for 1000. Bought a reman motor, new weber 38, gas tank, fuel pump, fuel filter and clutch kit. Finally got it all together. Going back to the garage now to find that fuel problem.

Your fuel pump psi ranges from 2.8-3.6. So you should be fine...

Hey all. Ive hooked up the carb and followed all the tuning instructions and the damn thing still stalls for no apparent reason. Seems like it becomes fuel starved after about 30 seconds of idling. WTF is wrong. The timing seems perfect, the fuel is getting to the carb and all vacuum lines are capped. HELP!!!!

If its anything like mine, you should be able to look where your air corrector jets are at the top, and next to it, you can look downwards and you will be able to see if you have fuel in your float. If you don't even have any in there then something is up!

You are going to need to desribe your problem a little more. Does it run rough, high, lean, etc. If that is a new carb., then it is something with your fuel delivery or vacuum.

Make sure you have your accel cable hooked up right! If you also did not tighten down your adaptor plates right, you may have a slight vacuum leak! If you can see if you are blowing any smoke.

STILL NO LUCK!

There is gas in the float. The line from the tank right up to the carb is fine. The vacuum is hooked to the distributor. All other lines onto the manifold are blocked off. I spread grease on the gaskets and loctite on the studs and nuts on install. I also spread grease around the adaptor plates to check for leaks......none.

When I open the choke and pull on the throttle cable, a bit of fuel is sprayed into the carb. the throttle cable is setup like in the photo above.

This is whats happening:

- turn key, hear pump squirt gas into carb.
- starts very easy (3 cranks)
- idles for 15 to 30 seconds then dies
- if I pull on the throttle cable it dies
- if I step on accelerator it dies
- idle mix screws were set to starting point (1to1.5turns out from seat)
- speed screw set correct too
- played with many idle settings
- moved distributor to see if it was out of time....wasn't

ANY ideas fellas? ANYONE live in Calgary and want to come down and help me out?
