hopefully everything will work out alright, i just won a e-bay auction on a
84-85 rx-7 gsl-se rear axle assembly complete from caliper to caliper......
all i have to figure out now is which one to use, meaning swap the lsd & brakes onto my axle, or use that axle, & modify my shafts to fit the rx's housing (shorter) or i may be able to re-drill the shafts in it for our 6 lug pattern....i'll hammer that all out once i get it here.
so to sum it up, i should have a lsd rear w/ rear disc brakes.....

that's what i thought too.....i'm just having trouble deciding about the lug pattern.......the rx's a 4x4.5 (114.3) & i already have my wheels which are 16's and have the factory 6 lug pattern....i would really like to go to a 5 lug so i could run some 18's & fill up the fender well a little more....i'll probably just run the 6 lug pattern for a while, then once i get tired of these wheels i can change it to a 5 lug front & rear.....

well my pops went & picked up my rear today, & brought it to my house (since i'm working this outage )...looks in excellent shape

good news, i took a minute to measure the width of the axle wms to wms (wheel mounting surface).....58.5", same as the rear in our trucks!!!!, so with a little cutting off of the old coil spring perches, and the old shock mounts, weld on new leaf spring perchs, & shock mounts, swap out the axle shafts for the ones in my rear axle, and have the rotors drilled to the 6-lug pattern & it will bolt right in!!!!! rear end with lsd & 10" disc for under $500 by the time i get new rotors & have them machined!!! can't beat that!

bad news, the didn't ship the darn calipers, & he said that they came with it....but i have e-mailed him & hopefully they will correct this slight problem & get them to me, or i will be forced to leave bad feedback about him on
e-bay & everywhere else i can find!

upon a little further review, whilest i was drinking my mornin cup of joe, i took a min to measure the lug pattern across on the truck & the width of the wms surface on the rx's rotor, there is @ a 1/2" or so to the side, & i'm not exactly sure what the thickness of that part of the rotor is, and i know the trucks axle has @ a 1/2" extra around the lug pattern on it, so it looks like it might be a very tight fit, if possible at all to run the 6-lug, i may end up just drilling the rx's axles, and my front hubs to a 5 lug & getting some new wheels, it will be a min before i can tare into it to know for sure tho......

info need info this looks good and there is a gsl in my junk yard

what year is it, and is it just the gsl, or the gsl-se?
both have the chunks with lsd that should bolt into our b2200 axle, but the gsl has solid 9" rear disc, where as the gsl-se has 10" vented disc.....

what other info do you want or need? i'll be glad to fill you in....i will try to get some pics up of it sooner or later, working 7-12's i'm about too pooped when i get home to even go to bed!
