there is a baffle plate / splash shield that should go on before the valve cover, did you put it on?

check make shure baffel is in...check pcv is workin .... like i said and tweaker said..when you put your compression rings in were they indexed so that the gaps were 180 degrees from eachother?..

your block could be outa round too...always always check and referance all motor parts.... oh yea..does it smoke out the tailpipe?..what were the reasons for the rering?

the baffle is in, i did make they were 180 degrees apart from each other, replaced the pcv valve a WHILE back that may be the problem, also i drove it more today and didnt do it. it didnt get really hot eather though. maybe they havent seated i dont know. if it does it too much more im just gonna take it to a local import shop.

Where do you buy the breather filter that I circled in the picture below?

Also, will the filter get full of oil from being exposed from the oil splashing up from the valve cover?

When you say you put your finger on it did it build pressure? The smoke you are seeing could be condensation burning out of the oil. That could be why you do not see it all the time. The allky motors we run are very bad for it and will drip water from the breather untill it gets warm enough to burn it off. Just a thought....

What carb is that in the photo, a Weber 34?

My Weber 32/36 DGEV has throttle assembly on the rear side.
