thats because the modifying the b2000/b2200 engine for performance is a colossal waste of time and money. It has 86 hp stock, so even if you DOUBLE IT (not even realistic with bolt on parts, and I seriously doubt its realistic with any kind of reliability with a whole crapload of modification) you are still in the 170hp range, a little above where base 4 cylinders with performance potential START. I doubt very much a bolt on party would get more than 40hp. Thats 126. Congratulations. You now have 9hp less than a stock civic.

You can buy all kinds of exotic stuff for the long stroke truck motor, and maybe it costs 2k to get 150hp. For about a third of that you can buy a KIA sportage motor (16v 2 liter) that BOLTS IN and after spending a bit more make the wiring harness modifications to make the truck EFI and have 145hp base, and they make cams for this engine that will get 160. MadlowMazda (Jim) has this swap with a MSII standalone install and he loves it.

sorry to be a downer, but people who race in mazda trucks get to know a lot of taillights.

Yep.Which is why most of us that do modify a 2200 do so because it is fun, relaxing, our hobby,a substitute for drinking, gambling, horing around, etc. My 2200 has a cam,Weber, suspension mods, etc. and I am sure that a stock Civic Si can easily blow my doors off. However,he bought his, I built mine so there u are.Oh and by the way,my VolvoS40R,which I also built will blow HIS doors off if I can find him.Lol.BJ

yep. I like jacking around with my truck, but if I ever tried to race it I would have to hope the kid in the stock civic didnt know how to drive.
