ok, i didn't know all that. i was pretty sure that you had to drop the pan. i have had a lot of problems with my engine and i had to pull the pan a couple of times to check the main bearings and i thought that was the only way to change the rear main seal. so do you have to pull the tranny apart from the engine or can you change it with the tranny hooked up and just dropping the pan?

had the guy change the rear main seal twice and it still leaks, im just going to have to take it to a mechanic shop and let them deal with it. its my last problem that i have ( knock on wood) and my truck would be perfect and ready to customize. i might just go ahead and look for a 626 engine if i cant get the leak fixed. the only thing is this motor is all rebuilt brand new with a brand new head i would hate to have to toss it aside just to put in a new engine to rid the oil leak.

dude that sux, did you rebuild the bottom end, or did you have someone do it? if you had a "shop" do it, i'd carry it back to them, cause with two seals, one should have worked unless it wasn't put back together right....

thats what i was saying to myself two seals and nothing. ill just send it somewhere else this weekend and try again hopefully the next mechanic gets it right.the whole engine is rebuilt minus the crank. hey i just seen you have a honda 600 rr i have a 07 zuki 750 man i love my bike im hoping to get a R1 as my next bike. but yeah i hope they can solve this rear main seal leak so i can move to the next stage.

now the mechanic says my crank has a groove where the rear main seal is, so im thinking of either puting on a sleeve for the time being or just getting a 626 engine and being done with it. but first i have a few questions will the header i bought for my engine fit on the 626 engine? likewise with the weber carb i bought?

hate to hear that dude, your best bet would be to source another crank from a b2k or b2200, or have that groove machined out of that crank, as the 626's dizzy will be facing the firewall, and there are clearance issues there. i don't think that the header will work on the 12v 626 head, i could be wrong though, and if i'm not mistaken the 626's are fi, so the carb wouldn't work either.....check on
