has anyone here heard of anyone putting a sr20det engine out of a nissan in their b series? i am thinking about dropping one in the 89. i hear that it is 205hp stock, and i am looking on ebay now cause i was told that i could get the eng., tranny and comp. for about 1500. let me know. thanks.

i heard that doing a inter-make engine swap is the lamest thing ive ever heard of. if youve got a mazda, use a mazda engine. sr20... get a damn hardbody. quit hating on your own makes performance engines. get a 13bt, or a klze or a miata engine, or a fe2t. dont hate, appreciate. seriously though i really dont like that, unless its a v8 cuz mazda aint got one!

could be a cool swap i guess... i'm kinda the same way as sncflow... i'm not a fan of interbreeding - but only some makes... like putting a ford in a chevy or a chevy in a ford is one of the worst things you can do. period. but putting a honda motor in a ford or a ford motor in a honda is a different story altogether. go for it and see what it does for ya!

You are hating more than anyone just because you don't like his idea don't cut it up. Sounds like a great swap but if you can get the complete motor for $1500 definetly go for it a friend of mine owns a shop called intense motorsports and I will talk with him over the weekend and I will try and get all the info to do that swap.

i personally don't give a damn what the engine came out of. if i can put a 205 stock hp, turbocharged 4 cyl eng in my truck that gets 30 mpg, well, that just seems like a sweet deal all together. this is just something that was run by me from a guy at work so i thought i would see what other people thought about it. just cause mazda doesn't make a v8 doesn't take away the fact that it is still an "inter-make engine swap".

and i am not hating on mazdas engines at all, i just personally don't like the 2.2 in this truck. i have had nothing but problems out of it. could just be my bad luck but i still don't like it. i am getting a rebuilt head in next week and going to install it as soon as i get it, so i will see how it turns out this go around. if i still have problems than this engine is coming out and getting scrapped.

Yea, that would sound like a killer engine to have! I kinda wish I had the idea to put something else in my truck besides rebuilding the 2.2 motor... sigh, its like a curse to just give yourself to blow the engine so you can have another excuse to buy a motor that is killer!

Unless, someone would want to buy my engine? lol...

im not hating but you can get an s5 tll rotary for less than 1500 and they make like the same power and if you use the racing beat exhaust thats a 60whp gain, u can check me on racingbeat.com like i said hardbody=sr20det. im not the only one that feels this way

i say do it. im actually thinking about this same swap into my 84 b2000. like you said 205 hp stock with a turbo and 30mpg do it. but do what you want its your truck its your money and your own original not someone else building the truck for you. good luck and keep me posted on this one.

I say do it to it. I'm not crazy about domestic into import, but import on import action is alright with me, and I got a S4 tII in my '87.
