i took the four bolts out of the shifter and poured it in there.

is it easier that way?

i just pulled the boot up and theres anouther rubber boot under that and i pulled that up and then there was four bolts to take out and then the whole shifter will come out i poured in the fluid and put it all back together and it still shifts easily so i guess everything is fine. one thing to look out for though is at the bottom of the shifter there is a ball that fits into a socket in the trans. and this socket has a bushing in it make sure that thing doesn't fall into your trans. its not hard you'll see what i was talking about when you get it apart if you try it that way.

well if that nut is stuck on the side of the tranny it could be a pain to get off. since theres not much room. there lots of room in the cab to move around and most the time the bolts are not on to tight. I would say yes it is

i have a trans out of the truck if you need a pic of what i was talking about

nah im not gonna worry about thank for everyones help, im havin the truck towed i figure if its leaking as bad as it is, i dont wanna just add fluid to drive it and let it ge worse, so its gettin towed next week thanks everyone.
