Well I really need to close this thread out.Took the tube to a local hdw store and determined that the threads were 1/2 NPT,so I bought 4 brass ones and returned to the truck.Damn things would not fit.So the NPT didnt work, the 3/4 inch Chevy acorns didnt work.Final solution-took the air intake pipe off,cut the nozzles and nuts off, pinched the opening together with a vise, and welded them suckers shut.Ground them smooth and painted the heat shield and the nuts with 1200 degree ceramic paint and reinstalled everything. It isnt pretty, but shesa no leak ,the paint sticks, and the holes are shut.Lol.U just cant beat TN redneck engineering.BJ

Tweaker: I do not have the EGR on as when u take all that air injector stuff off there is noe need for the EGR so I had 2 EGR block off plates made.NYTRD has one,I have the other. We pulled the upper CAT off to inspect it,it was open and flowed air ok so we put it back on.The back CAt was plugged so I replaced it with a new one,not factory but from Summitt Racing, along with a Flowmaster 40 muffler and 2.25 inch pipe all the way back.Inspections here are not on a dyno. They just measure with the probe same as we did or use the OBD11 port for cars so equipped..I dont remember the readings but the ASCE mech that was helping me said they were all in the normal range. To be sure we ran the truck hard for about 15-20 minutes so it was real warm when we measured. Not sure what it would do if cold as it is running a tad rich because of the cam.If u really need the readings I can take it back ti the shop Monday and measure it again.???BJ

Wish I would have found this thread sooner! Another option, depending on your welding setup, would be to simply weld the holes shut. I used an arc welder with a rod made for cast iron. Ground everything down and added a little more weld. Just wish I could give it a little better finish.

Yeah,I made my life miserable the way I did it.I ran the truck without the heat shield and it got hotter than Hades hinges under the hood.U couldnt even hold the hood prop.So I welded the heat riser hole up along with the air injection ports and painted all of it.The shield and ports are real thin metal and I kept burning it,but finally got it filled in.Truck runs much cooler with the shield in place and I wont fry any plug wires.Lol.BJ

Excuse the shittyness that everything under my hood seems to exume.
GM Lugnuts, off a 87ish I believe.
They fit, you just gotta find the right ones.

good bit of useful information guys, those lugs could look sick if the chrome was perfect and you engine bay was flawless..

Thanks Tweaker and Pepehn. If and when I everget tired of looking at those pinch welds I made(and I decided that 69 year olds dont need to be screwing with a torch) I will try one or both of ur solutions.Funny I had the long Chevy lugs and they just would not fit,Oh well evrthing is holding together for now. Thanks again for the input.BJ
