Here is a universal kit for mounting a ford 302 in your mazda. Only thing is, I don't think it would help us bagged guys out.

All you have to do is measure, cut and weld.. and then build yourself a tranny crossmember.. Which would be cake..

and here is one without the engine pads.. but the only problem is they aren't the same as stock motor mounts, so you would need the pads, so it would be useless to buy the kit without engine pads.

they also have engine mounts for small and big block chevy engines, asmall and big block ford engines, and small and big block mopars, and they also have some olds v8 kits.

there is your mounting hardware, then all you would need is a shift out of a mustang, or get one from summit also. Some type of Auto tranny shifter, a set of Mustang fox body shorty headers, run true duals, a short ford motorsport waterpump, a mustang fox body radiator, electric fan(s) and figure out your tranny configuration. Would be cake if you decide to run a carb instead of EFI. Swap the intake to one for a carb, and swap in an older points style distributor instead of the EFI distributor, and run you a mallory or ACCELL type ignition, and your ready to stomp some ass on some nissans and toyotas

not sure. Don't have the kit, but I know the kit that ultimate customs was selling, the engine oil pan and the trans pan sat below the frame rails. What i am thinking about doing, is taking my cab completely off, and buidling engine mounts, and then completely cut out my firewall and tranny tunnell and back wall enough fro clearance, and then just fab up all new shit to fill it back in. If I done a bodydrop in a weekend, then I am sure I could do an engine swap. Then I could "shave" my firewall in process.

exactly, why I keep talking my self out of doing this swap. I have a ford 302 and tranny sitting in the corner of my shop with EFI and eveything, but my thing is, it only takes about 15 MPH to throw a spark. Only downside to that is, in a mazda, you need to be going about 75 to drag for more than 100 feet without coming to a stop..
