you can most definetely weld on your valve cover. find someone local that has a tig welder and is good at it. tell them what you want and they can do it. make sure they are very good at it or it will turn out like shit. tig welding is tricky but aluminum is even trickier so put both together and it makes it super hard. i've done alot of tig welding on both steel and aluminum, and you can do it. please dont jbweld lol

Brazing MIGHT be the technical word for it... lol.

Did it a few times to my dads aluminum boat...

any more thoughts on this topic

but the valve cover is cast aluminum. it'd be different than just welding a couple pieces of 6061 or whatever wouldn't it. it can be done but i don't think it'll look pretty.

would probably be faster/easier/cheaper to take it to a machine shop and have them mill some grooves into the cover to give it a finned look...just a thought

i want raised fins tho... i'm going hot rod with my ride...

you can try to weld to it. go buy another at a pick n pull or whatever, and give her a shot. it might turn out nice!
