Rotary Engines

Apex seals are'nt always what goes out in a rotary, although that depends on what kind of life it had unless it's been rebuilt. Now when a apex seal does go out it sometimes/usually beats up the rotor and housing, or just totals out the two. And here's my engine bay

How Do You Know When The Apex Seal Goes Out? Does It Make Some Kind Of Noise? Your Engine Looks A Lot Like My Teachers With All The Blue Stuff. What Truck Do You Have Yours In?

Well when the apex seals go in a rotary it it doesent make a sound like a piston engine,like metal to metal.When i goes it looses all power and sounds like a weed wacker.Im on my 6 rotary in my rx7 so its a very commonsound to me

but its defiently noticeable? i dont wanna drive around forever and ruin other things cuz the seal went out

Trust me once an apex seal goes you wont be driving around.Also when they go its very hard to get rotarys started.When i blew up my last n/a motor at work it took me almost an hur to get it started.Now if any oil seals or cooland seals go you can still drive it but chances are your gona be puting up a smoke screen behind you.

i bougth a 87 rx7 was in a accident to do my swap i choose 87 because fuel injection will save some gas all my puertorican friends has they truck rotary the only complaint is gasoline most 12a some 13b carburator only few fuel injection turbo plus me now but i still under construction is easy to make you mount for 12a 13b (81-86) but for fuel injection(87-93) they sale some bracket tha fit on factory mount

rear irons on 2nd gen S4(86-88) rx7's have a weak spot, cracked mine an toasted the engine because of oil loss S5 engine or 13B-REW should be better and then you can haz twin turbos!....which aren't very reliable lol most swap to large single turbo
