Ok, I just got an MX6 80amp alternator off of B2200GT (thanks man) and i'm having trouble with the main fuse blowing everytime I goto put the - terminal back on. I have on the back of my alternator a 2 prong plug and the Bat wire that's it. The Mazda's 2 prong plug fit in the MX6 like it was stock. I didn't upgrade the wire going to the battery (maybe that's causing it). I didn't think it would blow the main fuse as soon as the - terminal went back on the battery? I figured if a fuse blew when I started it then upgrading the bat wire would have to be done. Any Idea's as to what's going on? I'm confused a lil.
Thanks

no upgrading your wire has nothing to do with it, get a volt meter and test the output of the alt, you might have a small short somewhere,

Test it how? It would have to be tested without the truck running because it blows the fuse right?
EDIT: Would disconnecting the 2 prong plug and leaving the Bat terminal on help prove something? I only have one fuse left to test then after that i'm going back to the store.

Only thing i can think of is that the polarity is opposite of the other alt.

So if I left the Bat terminal on only without the 2 prong harness would that tell me if the alt is good or not? I don't get how it's blowing the main fuse when I haven't cranked the engine over (not that I can after it blows anyways).

Alright that sounds like a plan. Now will the alternator work if I just connect the Bat terminal without the 2 prong plug?

Get a GM 140 amp alt. Make it work. 1 wire to battery positive terminal.
