Ya, my original plan was to grab the GM 1 Wire but thought the 80 would do for awhile. I just spent $70 on it and don't want it to be a waste of money ya know.

Arrrrg....what a pain.

lmao, well I was frustrated with it all so after work today I got home and went at it. Obviously there was a short somewhere as when I connected the terminals back on the battery it shorted the main fuse (under the hood). So I was like a.) the alt is fucked inside or there something making contact somewhere. I took the alt off and was looking at it when I noticed that at the back of the Bat Post there wasn't much room between the plastic sleeve and the alt casing. I went out and got another sleeve and stuck it on got it hooked back up and she WORKED .

The alt is screaming like a bad whore for whatever reason but non the less I don't have a bad alt. Just gotta figure out why an 80amp alt is whining so bad when the compressors are on. My stock didn't even whine (much anyways). But whatever, just thought i'd let everyone know .

Thanks for all the advice guys, I did rule out all the options before actually looking the alt completely over.

usually whining is due to bad ground, might wanna trace your grounds, alternators only whine when they are being over worked or if the grounds are insufficient compared to the load produced, understand these trucks came with a 55amp alt, their wiring isnt exaclty "up to par"

Maz alternators are the primary grounding source for all the electricals on the truck.Be sure there is metal to metal between alt and bracket arm,and between bracket arm and engine block.
