Thanks for the comments guys. Keep up the good work Karl and Fred.

Made a bit more progress on the truck. Still not 100% roadworthy but am getting there. I will post more pics when I make more progress.

I really like the idea of this swap, I've been reading every FE3 post I could find these last 2 days? So input shafts etc on the tranny are the same and you can use the 8 bolt flywheel? Im considering trading my swapped Civic for a 89 B2200 and I still need dependable. And I am a minitrucker at heart, I have a soon to be bodydropped hardbody. I've searched and I know this is my first post, But where can I find more info on this swap

Input shafts for the tranny are the same (splines and diameter). The Mazda tranny bolts up to the Kia engine like it belongs there. You can even use the Mazda clutch on the Kia 8 bolt flywheel. The Mazda engine mounts bolt up to the FE3 block fine too. There are a bunch of other little things that you will come across if you decide to swap but none are a deal breaker.

Members on this site such as fe3tcourier, madlowmazda, oddballracing, b2fe3 have done this swap with good results. Check for Fred's write-ups on various other sites. He has very useful information. We each did things differently but came up the the end result we wanted - a DOHC, more modern, INJECTED, reliable, inline four in our trucks.

There are a few good resources out there (). Mainly just search Yahoo for Mazda FE3 and tons of stuff comes up. Just read, read, read. Further, don't hesitate to ask tons of questions. I won't mind answering and I'm sure others won't either.

Good luck!

I looked up the stock performance numbers:

2.0-liter four-cylinder engine puts out 130 horsepower at 5500 rpm and 127 pound-feet of torque at 4000 rpm

Not the most impressive but sure beats the stock 2.2

Not sure if the FE/F2 intake will bolt up. Anyone else know?
