Hey guys, just thought I would post on my Kia FE3 swap. It is bolted in and runs using the stock Kia harness and ECU. I wish I was a writer and could put my thoughts in writing but such is life. Pictures are worth more to me. Check out the pictures in my garage. I'm not sure how to link the garage images to this post.

jus outa curiosity i kno the mazdas are gutless as hell (I've had 2 of em) why did u go with a kia engine?

there around 140 hp stock and EFI and they pretty much just bolt in. You can use the same tranny and motor mount locations.

makes sense then i guess!! gj

I will post more pictures up soon. I am finally to the point where I can show it off even though it is not pretty. There is still much work to do but it runs. That in itself is a major feat.

Well keep the comments rolling guys. It will keep me motivated.

so how difficult was the harness rewire and ecu install on a scale of one to ten?

ive been thinking of going to another carbed engine of some sort,
but if this isnt too much of a pain in the ass i might go this route instead.

i will be need a motor for my madza, but that will be in the future. But couple of question what years is you mazda? will the motor that you put in there fit in a 87 mazda b2000? also is is a straight bolt in like Pont said. dont need to change tranny or mounts? that would be sweet if that is the case. I will start to look for a motor around here where i live. The other thing what would i have to do to be able to pass smog in california since i changed the motor and stuff?

probably nothing since the kia engine should be more smog friendly.
also i think youre allowed to replace your motor as long as the motor going in is from the same year vehicle or newer i believe
