For starters, try wiring the a/c clutch directly to the battery to verify it works. If I remember correctly your compressor has 2 wires. Once you verify what works, then work in the other items. My Sanden only has 1 wire to that was pretty easy.

The pressure switch mounted to the tank - does it have 1 terminal or 2? If two, then all it should be doing is passing a connection thru it. There should not be a ground connection thru the tank. Not sure how all your wiring is done, but a single pressure switch can be used for both the viair and the EDC.

Ok, try this. If a pic is worth a 1,000 words then I just saved myself a bunch of typing LOL

my clutch does work i put it to 12v before i mounted it and thats how i have it wired minus the viair since i sold that. i think what it might be is a bare wire that mayb shorted through the body or something i will just have to look over the wire again but thanks for the info and the pic.

ya my 708 has 1 wire, they say the pump grounds itself.

I would always use some type of relay between the pressure switch and whatever type of compressor.Eitherf the 30/40 amp relays or th big Stinger relays.

i dont really understand the use of the relay the thing i under stand is that it makes a conection when its demanded... does someone want to explain to me what exactley it does?? and why i should have it in there

The purpose of the relay is to take the brunt of the electrical current demand of the device that it is connected to. In other words, the pressure switch at the tank may only be rated to handle 5 amps of electricity. Your old ViAir would probably draw 30+ amps. The EDC clutch might take 6-7 amps. A relay may only consume .5 amps to turn on therefor your pressure switch will only have to turn on .5 to 1 amp load. The relay on the other hand, once energized can handle 30+ amps. If you pair two 30 amp relays in parallel, you can run a 60 amp load thru them.

I currently am not running a relay between the pressure switch and the EDC clutch. I might be right, but on the other hand it might leave me stranded.

so then its a good idea to put in

i checked everything over and found a wire that was pinched and last time i thought i heard a spark somewhere there. i put in a new fuse and it work but i flipped the switch on and of once and the fuse went again and i listend closely this time and all i heard was the fuse go. could it be a loose conection that conected and disconnect and then conected... which blew the fuse?? what if i put a 20A fuse in or is that too much for the wiring?? im running off the cigarette lighter wires and the lighter is gone.
