does anyone know of a good source for aftermarket fe3 engine parts?

Most of the stuff done to the FE3 is custom. I don't think anything is aftermarket (bolt-on) per se. For that you might want to get in touch with Madlowmazda or Oddballracing on this forum. They might be able to point you in the right direction for some aftermarket parts for the FE3.

Hope that helps some.

I'm finishing an FE-3 swap and I got all my parts from kia sportage's there setup for the RWD layout and the JDM ones are mostly from 626s which use a distributor that would shoot throurgh are firewalls.
You can get the tubular header from the kia sportage's from 95-97 I requested one for a 96 and cut out the egr tube and welded the hole shut with some 12 gauge steel. and now have a nice tubular header.
I used the kia computer and wire harness, but would recomend trying a mega squirt since I had alot of difficulty mounting the crank angle sensor.
For repair info go to the following link and register and you get acess to repair manuals for most kias.

hope this helps

b2fe3, I still have the tranny that came with my sportage engine. I made a jig for the crank sensor hole using the Kia trans. That made drilling a hole for the sensor much easier.

Yeah that's kind of what I ended up doing. I found an old guy that did some tig welding on aluminum and got a kia trans then cut out the crank angle sensor mount and the surrounding material between the closest engine trans bolt holes. By making sure the bolt holes were round and that the face of the bellhousing and kia hunk were flat I located the hunk with alot of grinding and had the crafty old guy weld it up for me, that way I wouldn't mess it up. Any way it all worked out well enough the engine runs but I still haven't driven it yet. I've just got to many other things to sort out on it.

There sure is lots of sorting to do. I finally got mine emissions tested and registered. It is running pretty damn good.

Good luck with finishing it up. If you need any help let me know.

Check out the sensor right above the red cap. That is the crank angle sensor.
