whiteyb22 do you have the link for your stuff on ebay for sale, i looked last night but i didnt know which was yours?

matth0le, i know what the crank angle sensor is but from b2fe3's post it sounded as there was some fabrication to be done. but the pic you posted looks stock. or maybe it was that good of a fab job. is that the trans your running in your truck? thats the kia trans aint it? i was just curious if you were going to run the mazda 5 speed, what would have to be done, i will probably go with an rx-7 trans.

you could also check on

look under the kia & mazda engines, and there is bound to be some parts there.

That pic is the stock Kia trans. I use my stock Mazda tranny. What I did was drill a hole through the Mazda housing to mount that sensor. I drilled an 11/16 hole and used an aluminum spacer to give enough clearance from the flywheel to sensor.

What b2fe3 did was cut out the Kia housing and welded it onto the Mazda housing.

ah i gotcha, was that tricky drilling that hole? you would have to get the hole just about perfect on a curved surface.

MNC why are you gonna try to use a Rx-7 trans? You would have to switch the bell and tail housings. Unless you use the type II turbo transmission it's not gonna be any stronger just have different gearing. And if you try to use the type II your going to need either a particluar bongo transmission bellhousing or a custom one. Friedo54 on mx6.com has a ton of stuff on the FE3 swap if you want more info. He's on here sometimes to but I don't remember is name on here.

midnightcamaro, drilling that hole was not tricky. The curved surface would normally make things difficult but I made a woodent jig with the Kia trans I have. That made things so much easier. I ground curves into some aluminum spacers to orient the sensor perpendicular with the flywheel teeth. The hole is where it should be but is actually not centered on the flywheel and it still works.

what are you looking for?

b2fe3 fredio is who told me to run a tubro II i believe. im still in the researching stages, so im not fully sure on what im going to run yet. ive got most of the engine research done and am trying to figure out the rest of the driveline. so are you guys having good luck with the stock trannys? are they taking abuse ok? anybody running them with slicks?

it was me, i am fredio54, and i did tell you to use the tII trans IF you were going to make more than 300hp and/or push the truck HARD. the stock box or rotor ratio swap just wont last with that abuse.

there are no off the shelf bits, you have to crack out the welder like i did

i've been uber busy with my own website recently. i'll post about it when its ready.

fred.
