engine swap idea ;.)

Just an idea, but for those wanting some more power, someone with a little time, money, & fab skillz ought to check into swappin a mazda 2.3L KJ-ZEM V6 engine into one of these little trucks, came in the 95-02 millenia, known as a miller cycle engine....I'd dare to say with a little tinkering this thing could be a beast, esp since stock is is rated at @ 210hp.

yeah my mom had one, that thing had sum ass under the hood, never thought of that, itd be crazy thats for sure

only one throw back, the car is front wheel drive, and only came with a 4 spd auto, so it would be an issue....I'm sure with a little research could be overcome...

up side is it is a relatively small v6, coming in @ 2.3L so there shouldn't be much of a weight increase up from either 4 cyl. also it has a relatively short stroke, so properly balanced, it would windup tighter than either of the 4cyl's. factory redline is 6k. it's rated @ 210hp @ 5300rpm, and 210ft-lbf @ 3500 rpm, and is a dohc 24v engine, so it should breath real well.

I'd say with a set of headers, open exhaust, cold air intake & intercooler for the s/c, you could get another 20-30 hp out of it....

all in all, it's just a thought that I wanted to ponder out loud.

i wonder if sum how itd be pos to adapt a newer trans out of the 96+ trucks to the block, theres gotta be sum kinda bellhousing that could be machined or sumthing to make it work. just a thought

who-eee,the tech issues u would have to overcome.Lol.as posted above it came only with an AT so u would have to fab an adapter for any other tranny.The supercharger is mounted over the front (left) bank of cylinders with the intercooler (yep its intercooled) on top of it.Fitment issues for the drivers side fenderwell.parts are hard to come by as the last one was built in 2002 and they were only built for 4 years.The supercharger had a nasty habit of eating primary drive bearings.That all being said,it was aluxo piece of chain lightning and would run like stink off poop.210 hp was way conservative.I would love to see one crammed in a Bseries.Good project for u NYTRYDR.Lol.BJ

bumpety-bling-bang.Go back a few more years to the 88-91 S model Maz 929.DOHC 3 liter V-6 REAR wheel drive.Now there is a swap for u.BJ.

humpety-bumpity.Plus its got 4 wheel disc brakes ,lsd and 5 bolt lug pattern.Kill mucho birds with one big rock.Lol.BJ

it was basically the Maz MPV sport ute with a car body.Nice old cars.I know where there is one here locally with 2 blown head gaskets that can be had cheap if u r seriuos.BJ
