oh and if this helps, i changed the thermostat gasket like an hour before and found a leaking hose. if there something i might have disconected around there?

well its not an oil temp guage its either an oil pressure guage...or its a water temp. guage....probably water temp guage and either the thermostat isnt functioning properly...or you left a wore off somewhere..probably a single blade conection somewhere near the thermo.gousing...if all your wires are connected...change the thermostat

By the way, it's "gauge". The water temperature sender is located just under the thermostat housing, I'd first check to make sure the wire is connected to that. I'm not a great believer in coincidences: likely you knocked off or broke the sender unit wire when you changed your thermostat, fix that.

i just changed the thermostat a couple weeks ago. i forgot the gasket and i changed that yesterday. and ya i meant the water temp. theres a little hose under the thermostat that is leaking. i'll have a pic in a couple mins

That's called the bypass hose (the "J" shaped hose); I had to replace mine once. However, mine was molded solid rubber, not braided like yours. See AutoZone

Could you have possibly unplugged the sender on the bottom of the radiator?
