ok guys i got a 92 fuel injected b2600 and any time i go past half throttle the truck kinda bogs and starts popping through the exhaust and some times if i hold it there long enough it will pop back through the throttle body. ive disconnected the cat and drove it and the same thing happens. the MAF is clean, it has a new air filter and the fuel filter looks to be clean. when i dropped the cat there was alot of carbon built up in the pipe in front of the cat could the exaust itself be clogging up? i have checked everything that i am capable of checking and that i could think of i just wanna hear your opinions before i take it to a mechanic just to make sure i havent overlooked anything

hey man its just a suggestion but get a new o2 sensor

i think i might have found the problem i didnt take the fuel filter off all the way when i checked it so i checked it again and you wouldnt believe the rust that came out of the bottom side of the filter but there wasnt any ruck in the line so im off to the parts store to pick up a new filter if that dont work i will try the 02 sensor

Try getting someone to time the truck.BJ

if the filter fixes it, i'd look into pulling the tank, & getting one of these gas tank sealer kit for it, that way you don't end up with a stopped up filter again.

well the filter helped some but it is still doing it. i talked to my mechanic and he said it sounds like it could be the throttle position sensor which i hope not cause that bitch is 200 bucks. and what is the normal idle speed for one cause mine seems to be idling real low some where aroung 5-600

750-800 rpm is normal.BJ

could the throttle position sensor cause it to act the way that it is acting

A bad TPS can cause the low idle.Backfiring is usually the reult of timing being off(1) or way lean mixture(2).I assume u have checked timing. If the 02 sensor is bad,the bad signal could be causing the backfiring as could a bad TPS.I assume ur mechanic has checked the TPS signal to be sure it is functioning.A lean mixture also could be caused by not enough gas due to a clogged filter or rust in the tank leading to a clogged filter. There is a drain plug on the tank so if u dont have much gas in it,might drain it and see what comes out.If tank is rusty,a good radiator shop can clean it and coat it and there are rubber bladders u can use in them.Hope this helps.BJ

Bump. The 2600i has an electic fuel pump that puts out about 11-13 psi I think. It uses a "sock" filter IN the tank over the fuel pump pickup. That filter can be clogged as well.Check ur fuel pressure.BJ
