can someone post some pics of a foward 4 link b/c I only seem to be seeing reverse ...and whats the diff? ...I keep hearing diff things about the reverse 4 link

I always thought that this was a reverse 4 link. I have never seen it done like that green mazda. In this (my 2001 sierra), I have 2 bars going back and 2 going forward. It keeps the rear end centered nicely.

ahh yea that is the reverse 4 link but you dont have a bar going across connecting the c-notches ..not sure if I need that I dont want any dead weight ...and I see that you put the shocks mounted off the notches ...any probelms with anything or runs pretty smoothly ...

A bag going across the top would have been overkill on this. The frame is boxed and we added a new stronger crossmember for the rear bars to attach to. I've been running this setup for 2 years now with no problems, or complaints. The wheels stay dead center in the wheel wells at any height, it rides smoothe and I have never broken/bent or had to replace anything.Only problem is I can't drag it because of the plastic gas tank.

so you have a reverse 4 link your saying right? ..and how did you mount your shocks?

a 50/50 link is cool.. but its the same thing as a two link w/ a pan hard bar. And just because you run a forward 4 link dosen't mean you have to run a bridge bar (notch to notch). You just have to be more inventive on shock mounts.

haha ...right now guys im so fricken confused i guess i will understand more when i get the truck in and take the bed off ...what i didnt understand what is the deal with reverse 4 links are bad ...and why is the foward 4 link better ...also with the crossmember say in the front and mounting a 4 link do most mount the shocks off the c-notch ...like straight ...or on a slant for more travel

ok i looked at a place online that has some metal ...and they have square tubing on here ...2x2 1/4 thick they have everything but 2x3 ...is there a diff size or type i could use ...

sorry for all the questions but it really is helping me out and helping me understand it all

As for the reverse 4 link.. its not as good to run it reverse because your axel is being pushed into place rather than being held into place when you accelerate. UNLESS you have a cando specialties reverse 4 which was DESIGNED SPECIFICALLY for tacomas.. but we don't have tacomas.. so i wouldn't do it. I know other people run them reverse so they don't have to move their gas tank or whatever.. but its not as good for long term. As for the metal.. it is easier and comperable to just buy a 4 link made to fit your vehicle.. there are many many companies that build link kits for many many mini truckers.. some of them are Grant Kustoms, (CenterStageCustoms) - sells KP Component, Cando Specialties, SuicideDoors, Gravity Werx, and Outlawcustoms.biz. Those are not ALL the companies.. but the big ones. Outlaw also sells metal on their website. I sudgest calling one of these retailers and asking them the questions, because then you are talking to professionals who deal with this on a daily basis.. they will take the time to help you and explain to you EVERYTHING you need to know.. especially the guys at outlaw, cando, and suicidedoors.. no offence to the others.. but thats my personal experience.

Also.. let me know if there is anything i can help you with. Once again i'm sorry if i didn't mention your company's name or whatever.. but these are the places that i personally deal with.. and Matt is my witness.. i'm not affraid to pick up a phone and call to ask questions... or shoot the shit.
