I am putting a 302 in my mazda. Am i gonna be able to use my stock rear end? I heard that these Mazda Rear ends are awsome but awsome enough for a 302? Should I plan on put a diffrent rear end?

I heard that thay will hold but im not gone risk it im gone put a 8.8 out of a 04 ranger or a mustang if need be ill get one out of a F150 and have it cut down to fit as well. the main reason i dont wont to risk it is if it bust then i got to have the driveshaft remade which i dont feel like paying 2 times for the samething

Is it hard to cut down an axle?? Is it something someone could do or need it sent out?
pont   +1y
you can buy the axle to the length you wont its the axle housing that has to be shorted and you can do it if you know what your doing but im gone send mine off so i know its right the drive line is something i dont wont to take a chance with

and if its a stock 302 you should be fine.. got a friend w/ a 347 and stock rear end.. just can't abuse it. its a half ton rear end.

i'm going to use a 87 t.bird rearend on mine b.cause it came with the motor. I also heard I can through explorer axles in it to switch to 5 lug and rear discs all at once, but I don't know if this is true yet

it should be fine. i m running a stock mazda rearend, and my 302 is pretty built. i have bagged on it a few times. so far so good. there is too much power and not enuf traction to break it. the wheels just spin, there is no tourque on the rearend to cause damage haha

So it won't bust? Well lets say I wanna beef it up for safety, whats the ebst to use? and most cost effective
