i have that compressor as well and i have a 135 amp 1 wire racing alternator and 2 optima yellows and it cant keep up some times when i get switch happy. that thing will fill a 7 gal tank form 0 to 150 in like 45 seconds but it draws like 200 amps. thats more than a starter. so think about how fast your batteries dies if your car wont start and your running your starter for like 45 seconds.

how much do those GM alts run at an autoparts store like autozone?

i heard there was car with a GM 1wire and it was 35bucks or something after a trade in

or i could snag one at my local pull a part for like 10bucks...that would help a lot, cause when my lights, compressor, radio , and turn signals are on...everything dims and the compressor sounds like its about to croak at idle lol

Yea i'd like to have one of those compressors im also running a GM 1 wire alternator in my truck!
low87dawg   +1y
was that hard to do??
baggedb22   +1y
Nope, but i have a v8 in my truck.. If you get a 1 wire it's really easy all u need to do is fab up some brackets!

what bout the belt will that work it or do i change pulleys??
mark   +1y
you can swap the pulleys but you dont really have to, because the belt pulley on the GM 1wire has a sharper V, the mazda belt will not sit directly flush on the pulley, it doesn't hurt it really, just has a tad more wear on the sides of the belt because it isnt sitting flush

well what if i swaped it does it fit right and is it bout the same size??
