Dimensions for a Notch?

Im planning on bagging my truck this summer and have already picked out all my things to do this except my link kit and notchs the reason why is because i started working at a car plant and we have an awesome metal tool room where i have already made aluminum adapter plates to fit my holley carb on my 90' maz. ANYWAYS just decided to make my 4 link and notchs and wants to know since this is my first truck and i dont want to mess it up whats the exact measurements for a proper notch for our trucks? thanks

depends on the wheel and tire combo you choose.

im running 205/40R17 right now and plan on doing a forward 4link

you ever plan on getting a bigger wheel or tire?

well the basic notch you buy is 8" you can buy that and trim it down to whatever size you need. offtopic but would you make another holley carb adapter? what would you charge and have you put it on yet?

NOTCH MEASUREMENT
(Tire Height + rear end diameter)/2 = top of the rear end

Next, using a long straightedge measure from the bottom of the frame to the frame height where the center of the rear end sits. With this info use the equation:

Top of the rear end - stock frame height = the bottom of the notch

So, to recap, let's plug numbers so it makes sense:

26(tire height) + 4 (rear end diameter) = 30/2 = 15 (top of the rear end)

15 (top of the rear end) - 12 )stock frame height) = 3 (so the bottom of the notch needs to sit 3 inches taller.)

ok so just how wide and thick to slide over the frame now..sorry my truck is with someone right now getting worked on so i dont can jsut go look...also should i use 1/4" or jsut the stock 3/16" for metal thickiness

I'm using 2x2 3/16" for mine.

whats the top and bottem length so i know how much of any angle to put it on
