When I had my old c notch set up, there was the factory crossmember that would rub the fuck outta the driveshaft. Well i put my new notch set up in but it never rubbed or hit again, so over a period of time my truck would get more and more vibration i thought nothing of it well i was riding down the road and i see this homo civic bagged trying to hit side to sides on me, so i figured what the hell i pancaked the whole truck and me the retard i am, decided to hit the throttle, well the light turned green. I lifted the truck up and BOOM it snapped I knew exactly what it was.

Is it safe to weld it back together>? I know its a big job but I know I can swing it.

If I do Ima take some 3/16" steel plate get a torch and bend it to fit over the drive shaft and weld it to hold the 2 together.

what do yall think?

i'm sure welding it isn't the problem, but it's getting it straight and centered. you need to have that bitch accurate or else it'll vibrate no matter how much balancing weights you put on it. harder job than you think

but if you want to give it a shot, just weld it up, and then take it to a place that will balance the driveshaft...just hope you weld it together straight. do not put gussets to connect the shafts together, that'll rally throw off the balancing

ya i was thinking about that, im not gonna put gussets on it, but ya im not gonna just cut it and start to weld ima prolly stare at it for a good 30 mins making sure its str8 and as far as the balancing thing what does that do?

so if i were to just weld it up and it was str8 and accurate and not balanced whats the consiquences?

it will either break again.. or shake the living hell out of you and any passengers... well call it the death wobble. And depending how off it is.. can mess up your tranny or your rear end.. and destroy any u joints you have.

lol THE DEATH WOBBLE

your driveshaft is like your tires. its a rotating round object. a heavy weld on one side of the driveshaft is like gluing a 50lb elephant crap on your tire and driving down the road. it'll do THE DEATH WOBBLE
