the brakets are still not in contact with the control arm on the pass side so when i have more time prolly when i go down to the shop to finish the bed ill cut those brakets off so im already to bag it this winter

Hi I'm new to lowering trucks but wouldn't blocks (I'm assuming they go between axle and leaf) make your leaves really close to the ground? I would like my truck a bit lower but not so low it can't be used in winter reliably (as this is it's purpose). A guy, whose truck I've seen, cranked his torsions and did somthing to the rear (I dunno?) and it rides about like an average car's height off the ground. If doing somthing like this would make me likley to get stuck in the snow I don't want to do it (I was fine in my 323 when the lowest point was 5" off the ground)

Thanks

btw I didn't want to spend money on this I assumed it could be done for free/just work

YES!

that is the exact reason for my "BD without bags" thread.....my old mazda had 4" blocks and the end of the u-bolts were about 3/4" off the ground.....i could have cut them off a little shorter, but never got around to it

Even when I was using 5" blocks, I only hit mine once, and it wasn't bad cuz I didn't know lol. Just the slightest bend.

You will be perfectly safe using 3" blocks and just twisting the front torsions to match. Shoot, go out there and measure 3" down from your leaves now and you can see how far it will put them down ...though the block u-bolts are a about and inch or so longer. Still don't see you having any kind of probs with them.
