Just curious,as I'm trying to figure out the best way to static drop my truck.

I've decided to go with drop spindles for the front, and I was going to do 3" blocks, but then while surfing for parts I found Belltech lowering leafs that will give me a 3 or 4" drop.

Now this is where I start to wonder. Blocks are easy to install, but even with blocks,I'll probably still want to remove a leaf from my stock leaf pack. All my bushings and stuff are worn out,so I may as well replace them while the leafs are removed from the truck. This is where the leaf kit makes sense. It comes with new bushings and all the hardware I need, and it'll give me brand new leafs and a drop all at the same time.

Yes,they cost more than blocks,but they're $109 US each,so I'm looking a little over $200. I don't mind,I'd rather do it right than hack it up.

Anything I should know about them,or if anyone else here runs them? Input appreciated.

I put 4" blocks on mine and pulled the 2 middle springs. I also cut the rear bump stops in half and it still rides on them. In the front I installed 3" lowered control arms and cranked the torsions a little. The rear was very cheap but the front was a little more pricey. I haven't had any problems out of what I am doing other than if there is a pebble in the road than my crossmember will hit it. haha.

haha...yeah,I've heard the spindles are pricey, but worth it for the ride quality, and not having to screw around with the torsion bars.

I'm just curious, since I'm replacing all my shocks with Toxic drop shocks, then going to install spindles,I may as well replace the leafs, that way all my suspension components are as new as my engine.

Ifyou want it right, go with the leafs. I got blocks myself, but also pulled 2 leafs. Since you're goin "right" in the front, might as well in the rear lol.

I'm baggin mine, so it won't be like this forever

if you plan on bagging it in the near future, save the money and install blocks. if not than i would save the money anyways. haha. no, i would get the leafs if i wanted to roll static drop for a long time. they are probably a smoother ride than blocks and pulling the leafs.

nah,not really planning on bagging any time soon. atleast not before 2007 is up.

the truck will be daily driven all summer,an hour to and from work each way,so I'd like a half decent ride, and I want it to stay reliable,I don't want to bag it and then have a bag blow out on my way to work or something.

thanks guys

My 2 cents worth... In the past I had blocks and a mono leaf on the show truck. Sat low, but had a lot of axel wrap on acceleration/breaking. I ended up with de-arched main and 2nd leaf with no blocks between. I put the block BELOW, between the leaf spring and the spring plate/shock mount. This gave me the drop I wanted, limited the axel wrap, and could run a regular length shock.
