why does everyone dislike drop blocks? i have never used them before this truck and have had no problems. i have 4 inch blocks installed with 2 leafs pulled. i plan on getting bagged in may/june, but the blocks have been on for about a year now. i am just curious as to why everyone dislike them.

I was wondering the same thing I have 3 inch blocks and the two centers taken out and no probs... they have been in since this past feb.. I was thinkin bout some 4 inch blocks

they are or can be very unstable as far as side to side movement esp, if you don't keep a check on your u-bolts, they are also prone to cracking / breaking. also the taller of a block you put in, the closer to the ground your stock shock mounts are & i've seen them torn off just like our torsion bars. mostly the dislike of them is just from an unnecessary risk of tearing your truck up for the most part if something did go wrong......it is sorta like this, it serves its purpose (like a hoopd/clunker), but everybody would like to have something better

not only are they seen to be unsafe but in my opinion the taller the block the rougher the ride.... i had 4in blocks and 3in leafs on my old s10 and hated it. i eventually ended up pullin the blocks-

nytrdr24, i see what you mean as far as the side to side. makes since, never really thought about that. i do keep a close check on just about everything on my truck. for the first month that i had them installed i did have to tighten the u-bolts about once or twice a week. i havn't noticed any cracking, so hopefully the will last until i get bagged. haha.

retro83, hell yeah it is def. a rough ride. i can not wait to get bagged. is your truck bagged yet or are you planning on bagging it? i love that body style.

Nah, its not bagged yet, im still planning that all out for this summer with the SFBD... muahhaa

Thanks though on the props for the body style, when i came across this truck i had to have it, i bought it like on a friday, found one online that next day and bought another one moday.... now ive got two identical trucks and my work cut out.... haha

Im liking that style as well cause you dont see em very often... I guess I got lucky with my blocks cause I have checked em a number or times and they have yet to come loose or crack or anything.... I was thinkin about a 4 inch block but I didnt know if I really wanted those though....
