i was wondering where the usual 3/4 frame would start...

i wanna build a frame with 2x3 laid FLAT, with 2 sets of rails, inner and outer, body mounts between the two, and a canti setup with the outer rails ending at the bag mount.

i am askin this because i am thinkin of takin from where the front clip starts to bend outwards, cut it there... then i would go straight back from that, all the way to the backend, wiht the outer rails forming the body mounts n stuff...

its hard to imagin what i'm sayin unless i draw it out... i know...

i'll draw it up tomorrow after work...

promise...

2x3 on its side??? why on its side, it has far more rigidity standing on end.

I would think it would flex,on its side, but lets see the drawing, you might have it more thought out..

that is why he is runnin two lengths of 2x3..giving hin total 4inces of vetticle witch is more than enough.. i have seen it donebefore and it liiks awsome.. yea u can cut wherever but makeyourself a lil jig to weld two the frontend before you start cuttin nethin justincasesomethingtriesto move on ya.. weld on brotha!

2 oieces of 2x3 on side will not be the sam as a piece of 4 inch tall material, more like 3 inch material, and with the extra weight it would put on the truck it is hardly worth it....

the question was... where do most 3/4 frames start at?

i want mine to look somethin like this... it is out of proportion by a little bit and it will look better when done.

the rear end gets its lift off of the cantilever bags mounted outside the rails... also, instead of the tank being between the rails... there will be 2 skinny tanks outside the frame next to the tank.

The red is the new frame with the blue being the 4 link... and black being the axle...

here it is...

see i gotta have a skinny frame in rear because i want NO MORE than 2" between the frame and fuel cell... the cell will be 15 gallon (20x18x10)... so it should be REALLY close...

also, i wanna run tanks outboard so i'll need room for that... i didn't include a side shot because i'm still designing... i know i wanna step it enough to clear 20's without the rubber bands...

this is what i wanna do eventually... got a long ways to go... price wise, build wise, time wise...

it'll get there though...

also, on the rear end, you'll notice i have some pegs hanging out... thats for the tilt bed i will be running... with some NICE bushings/bearings... the tonneau (flush mounted) will be opening the opposite way for the gas filler... the tilt bed is to show the frame...
